Hello!

Just to let you know during these difficult and different times Heilsa Therapies is still doing its stuff and Kate (me!) though not seeing people for face to face appointments at the moment will be available on the other end of the phone and or online to help and support you.

What this means is I will be offering appointments for self care massage and movement for general and specific issues/problems or even just advice on stretching out that slightly stiff neck, a query, nothing is too small or unimportant!

Please do call and or email me and we can have a chat, if I am not the person to help you, I can perhaps suggest someone who might be able to.

Though not out in the field (literally!) at the moment, Heilsa Therapies will still be working at and offering wellness days, corporate packages, events and festivals, bringing treatments and workshops out to everyone.  Please feel free to chat with us about what we do and what we can offer.

Love from Kate and the Heilsa Team

What treatments are available?

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is the therapeutic application of oils and massage working on both the physical and emotional needs of the client.

Essential and base oils are chosen and mixed for each individual client as part of the treatment.

This may be for a specific condition such as muscular, hormonal, dermatological, depression or perhaps relaxation or for a combination of issues.

Aromatherapy massage can be quite a gentle massage as the therapist uses the oil as much as the massage to treat the client.

Holistic Massage

The idea of holistic massage is to create a sense of mental and physical wellbeing through therapeutic touch.  Using a combination of techniques to relax muscle tissue, working on areas of stiffness and discomfort, stimulating the body’s circulatory and lymphatic system and also helping to shorten recovery time after muscle strain.

This is a treatment usually carried out using oils or massage wax, however we can be modify the massage to work through clothing; let us know how you feel and we can have a chat prior to a treatment.

Hopi ear candling

Candling is a relaxing treatment used to help to decongest the ears and sinuses using beeswax candles.  The treatment combines candling followed by a face, head, neck and shoulders massage.  When booking this treatment please contact Kate so she can make sure that this is a suitable treatment for you right now.

Hot Stone Fusion Massage

A joyous treatment that can combine the use of hot and cold stones.  Lose the idea of hot stones being just about a luxury spa or pamper treatment, it is most definitely not!

Hot and cold stone treatments have many therapeutic benefits, from a remedial and clinical standpoint and moving to the realms of deep relaxation for the body and mind.  You can experience it as a stand-alone treatment or it can be combined with a range of other treatments from reflexology, facial and body massage.

For a full body hot stone massage I would suggest a 90 minute session is booked.

Japanese facial massage

A treatment incorporating gentle massage, acupressure points and lymph drainage techniques on the face, head, neck and shoulders to stimulate and relax.  Using oils and creams it is very relaxing on its own and wonderful incorporated into other treatments.

M technique

This is a very gentle method of touch, designed by an intensive care nurse called Jane Buckle.  It was originally inspired by and created for people in intensive care, as well as those suffering chronic and life limiting conditions where touch can become a very practical thing.

This slow, light and very gentle method is carried out using oils and reintroduces a sense of relaxation, calm and stillness back into the sense of touch.

Reflexology

This treatment can be described as a non-intrusive method, working points over the feet and hands that relate to different aspects and areas of the body.  The aim of Reflexology is to kick start the process of the body and mind to naturally rebalance and work towards gaining its optimum equilibrium.

Kate carries out treatments on the feet and hands also incorporating some work into the legs and arms respectively and depending on client preference, using oils and creams.

This treatment is very individual in how it is carried out by each practitioner and received by each client.  Anyone of any age can receive Reflexology, from new born to those receiving end of life care, it can be used as a support for other health issues from fertility, palliative care and depression all the way through to allowing someone timeout and a moment to just stop.

It can be wonderfully relaxing and a supportive therapy in many situations but please keep in mind it is not a diagnostic or curative treatment nor an alternative to medical treatment.

Seated Massage

This type of treatment is something we use regularly within the work place and public environments, tailoring both to the environment as well as the clients’ needs.  It is great as a quick relaxation and invigorating treatment to relieve tight, aching muscles.

This type of treatment can be carried out on a seat, at a desk or on a massage chair where a therapist will work over the back, head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands of the client.  Generally this treatment is carried out through clothing but also clients can request oils to be used.

Bespoke Treatments

All our treatments are structured to our clients’ needs rather than structured by a set formula and with our bespoke treatments it’s no different.  The only difference is you can combine a mixture of different aspects of therapies to create a treatment uniquely for you.
